How Placement Works

THE THREE ROWS

Every set on the FBK stage ends with a placement — Funny, Bomb, or Kill — and every placement points somewhere. The Rows aren't ranks on a scoreboard. They're the three paths a comedian walks after the mic. FBK isn't only looking for finished comedians — it's discovering, developing, and creating opportunities for them.

WRITER'S ROW

FUNNY

The development pathway.

The material worked. You made the room laugh, and you're in — welcome to Writer's Row. This is where funny comedians keep developing: new material, sharper sets, and a clear path toward the top of the show.

REDEMPTION ROW

REDEMPTION

The material failed. You didn't.

Not every bomb is just a bomb. If the host sees something worth developing — a premise, a story, a personality, a spark — they can take a few minutes and talk with you right there on stage. Sometimes that conversation turns into a second chance on the spot. Sometimes you take the material home, work on it, and come back stronger. And if you can't make it back next episode, nothing is lost — your placement and your history stay on record, waiting for when you return.

KILLERS ROW

KILL

The top of the show.

The rare one. A performance so good the whole room — and the whole production — knows it before the set even ends. Killers Row is the achievement seat: the comedians who keep killing get the special moments, the spotlight, and their own show.

AND IF IT'S JUST A BOMB?

Then tonight wasn't your night. No placement, no hard feelings — the stage is honest that way. As long as you're welcome in the room, you come back and try again. That's the whole deal: the material may have failed. The comedian has not necessarily failed.

And for the ones the host sees something in — the story keeps going. The show tracks every set, every placement, every comeback. Returning comedians become part of the story itself, because at FBK the journey is the entertainment:

PERFORMANCE → PLACEMENT → DEVELOPMENT → RETURN → IMPROVEMENT → OPPORTUNITY
