Funny Bomb Kill (FBK) is looking for a Director — not simply a technical camera-directing position. The person who helps turn the live show into one cohesive filmed production.
FBK is performed in front of a live audience and filmed as a production. The Director works with the host, announcer, audio wizard, lighting team, camera crew, backstage crew and production team so the entire show feels like one coordinated production.
Think of it like an orchestra: everyone has their own instrument, personality and style — the Director helps bring the entire orchestra together.

THE JOB
Our regular Sunday show runs 7:00 PM — ~9:00 PM, with roughly 30 minutes of pre-show before cameras roll.
- —Directing the camera crew while the show is live.
- —Coordinating the important visual moments with lighting and audio.
- —Protecting the comedian's performance — knowing when a tight shot would destroy an act-out, or a cut would step on a punchline.
- —Making sure the production always keeps a master/safety angle.
- —Capturing the show's biggest moments — placements, Wild Cards, the Bomb Squad, entrances and reveals.
- —Communicating clearly and calmly while the show is live.
- —Giving the editor options — capturing material the finished episode can use.
UNDERSTAND COMEDY
Filming comedy is different from filming a conventional dramatic scene. The camera supports the joke — it never competes with it.
A comedian may suddenly move across the stage, change character, perform an act-out, go completely still, or pause on purpose before a punchline. A well-timed shot makes the exact same joke considerably more effective. A badly timed cut destroys it.
