The show on stage is only half the story.
You're the other half.
THE JOB
You carry the second mic:
- —Pre-show interviews — comedians, crowd, energy on the way in.
- —Post-set reactions — catching a comedian 30 seconds after they walk off stage, whether they just killed or just died.
- —Crowd moments during the show.
- —Post-show wrap-ups — the night, the moments, the family.
- —Recurring bits. Over time, this role becomes a character on the show.
BE YOURSELF
This role isn't a script.
Whatever your dash of who you are — dry, hype, weird, smooth — add it.
The best version of this job is the one where the reporter is a character, and the character is you.
We're still figuring this one out — which means you get to help invent it. Don't overthink it.
