Funny Bomb Kill (FBK) is looking for a Host — the face and voice of the show.
Every great comedy show has a chair that belongs to somebody.
At FBK, that chair runs the whole night.
You open the show. You set the tone. You bring the room up, hold it there, and hand it to each comedian like it's a gift. And when the set's over — you take it back.
We're at the beginning of building FBK — which means the host of this show gets to help shape what hosting FBK even means.
THE CHAIR BELONGS TO A COMEDIAN
The host of FBK will be a comedian.
Not a presenter. Not a talking head. A comedian.
Somebody who understands a live room, understands a lineup, and knows exactly what the person on stage is going through — because you've been there yourself.
THE JOB
Our regular Sunday show runs 7:00 PM — ~9:00 PM, with roughly 30 minutes of pre-show before cameras roll.
As host, you:
- —Open the show and own the room from the first word.
- —Introduce comedians and keep the lineup flowing.
- —Host the recurring segments that make FBK FBK.
- —Steer the room through every verdict — funny, bomb, kill.
- —Be the safety net when a set dies. Bombing is part of the show. Saving the room after a bomb is part of the job.
- —Land the cutoff moments — the red light, the wrap, the close.
TIGHTER THAN IT LOOKS
This one's a little more real than some of the other positions.
The host chair is the one place where "loose" doesn't work. You have to be professional. Prepared. On it. The whole show balances on your timing — walk-ups, cutoffs, verdicts, transitions.
We still practice — a lot. But this chair is for someone who's already comfortable holding a room.
THE ROTATION IDEA
We're also flirting with something else: rotating the host.
Maybe every cycle — every four weeks. Maybe every season. Maybe every year. Nothing is set.
What that could mean for you: hosting FBK could be a seat you hold, or a seat you rotate through — but either way, being in the chair at all makes you one of the faces of the show.
WHO WE WANT
Someone who:
- —Is a comedian who's comfortable hosting — or ready to be.
- —Has some experience, or is at least genuinely comfortable on stage.
- —Is quick. Live rooms don't wait.
- —Is professional and prepared, every single show.
- —Can improvise when things go sideways — and they will.
- —Actually likes comedians and understands the ecosystem we're building.
- —Is dependable. The show is Sunday. Every Sunday.
