FBK · Every Set Earns a Placement
THE PLACEMENT
What's your placement? Every performance lands in one of four places — called live, right after your set. Here's what each one means, and what happens next.
The material worked
FUNNY
The room laughed.
You got the laughs — the material works. You're placed into Writer's Row, the development lane of the show. Keep writing, keep testing, and come back stronger. The next step from here is the Kill.
WRITER'S ROW
Tonight wasn't your night
BOMB
No placement.
The material didn't land, and there wasn't enough there to build on yet. That's all it means. It's not a rejection and it's not a strike — grab new material and try again at the next show.
NO PLACEMENT — BACK NEXT SHOW
The host sees a spark
BOMB + Redemption
You bombed — but the host sees something.
Instead of sending you off, the host takes a few minutes with you: what were you going for, what else have you got, what's the story behind that joke? If there's real potential, you're placed into Redemption Row. Take the material home, rework it, and come back to redeem it.
REDEMPTION ROW
Clearly exceptional
KILL
Waves of laughter.
A Kill is earned — the host sells it, the lights and DJ land it, the room confirms it. You're placed into Killers Row, the top of the show: first call for the Killers Row Show, spotlight segments, guest spots and hosting.
KILLERS ROW
The One Rule That Never Changes
Your Placement Stays Yours
Step away for a week, two weeks, five years — your placement and your history stay on record. When you come back, you pick up exactly where you left off. Nothing resets. Nothing expires.
- Move up and down the ecosystem — performance, consistency and growth decide.
- Your record follows you — every placement, every set, every return.
- The spot you earned is the spot you come back to.
Placement is earned live, set by set. Never given.
